Nintendo says that 65.3 million controllers are in gamers hands in the United States. That means that every day since the Wii’s 2006 launch there have been about 46,000 Wiimotes sold a day. According to Nintendo’s figures, that’s enough for every man, woman and child living in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, San Jose, Detroit and San Francisco, and enough still remains for every resident of Florida, Ohio, Virginia and North Dakota.
