Warner Bros has released the first Trailer for a Minecraft movie slated for release in April 2025. This is fans’ first look at the live adaptation for a Minecraft movie.
Directed by Jared Hess, Minecraft The Movie is the first-ever big-screen adaptation of Minecraft. Despite its rapid popularity, with over 300 million copies sold, Minecraft’s portrayal on the big screen will only come in 2025.

Who will star in the Minecraft Movie?
Jack Black will play Steve, the expert Digger in Minecraft. Other actors include Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Coolidge, Jason Momoa as well as Sebastian Eugene Hansen will also star in this movie.
The trailer shows Black introducing himself with a “I am Steve” introduction that packs a punch. The trailer shows Black and the rest of the cast navigate their way through the fast-changing universe. En route, they also meet piglins and creepers.
Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Jack Black has starred in several Game-to-screen adaptations including Jumanji: The Next Level, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Borderlands. His portfolio of starring in movies featuring games earns him a unique spot in the film industry. Minecraft The Movie aims to build on the game’s charisma which is to allow players to build and imagine anything they want in the fantasy universe.
Minecraft was originally developed by Mojang Studios and later acquired by Microsoft. It is one of the largest influences in gaming and has been extremely popular amongst children and young gamers. The game saw its debut in 2011 and has had many spinoffs including Story Mode, Earth, Dungeons and Legends.
The movie will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures worldwide and Legendary East in China. It will release in theaters and IMAX in North America on June 12, 2025. The rest of the world will get to see the movie a few days earlier on June 06, 2025.
