A new Strand sword has arrived in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2’s Episode: Heresy brings with it a few new weapons, including the second Wave Sword Frame ever created. Abyssal Edge is one of only a few Strand swords in Destiny 2 and it’s got a god roll for every occasion.

What is the god roll for Abyssal Edge in Destiny 2?
Abyssal Edge PvE god roll
There are a few unique perks on Abyssal Edge. We’re giving two options here, one for (situational) boss melting, the other for general play.
In both cases,Relentless Strikesprovides ammo for landing multiple light strikes which you may do while you wait for the wave to charge up. I’m pairing this withSword Logicfor add clearing; enemies that die from the AoE will stack a bonus to outgoing damage. Slice and dice your way through enemies while keeping your Sword Logic stacks high.
For the boss-killing type, switch Sword Logic forSurroundedfor that huge damage buff when multiple enemies are nearby. However, this roll makes the sword a bit situational; if there are no enemies nearby, you’ll lose quite a bit of damage. Against the right boss, however, you’ll chew through them with ease with this roll.

Abyssal Edge PvP god roll
Swords aren’t the most popular Heavy weapon type in PvP but one particular perk makes Abyssal Edge a decent option: Valiant Charge. After blocking damage, Valiant Charge grants a lunge distance boost, allowing you to close the gap to enemies at range.
The second perk is a little more open; I’m going forHatchlingfor a spawned Strand bug to deal further damage to nearby enemies, butDemolitionistisn’t a bad pick for those needing a grenade recharge boost.
How to get Abyssal Edge in Destiny 2
Abyssal Edge is part of theEpisode: Heresy loot pool. It drops primarily from Heresy activities, so be ready for a few rounds ofThe Nether. I’ve found it easy to rack up Heresy weapon drops from The Nether, especially when you use the right scriptures in theTome of Want.
Be sure to pick theEpisodic WeaponsandCrumbling Swordsscriptures to focus your drops for Abyssal Edge. This weapon can’t be crafted, so to get the enhanced perks, you’ll have to level the weapon up!
