Uplay keys and eight-gen deals

Those in the UK are probably keenly aware of the fact, butAssassin’s Creed Unityis no longer available for purchase on Steam as of thismorning. (It has returned to Steam in the US, though.) If you were planning to search for a discount on the PC version near release date, Steam likely wasn’t on your radar anyway, as the platform rarely has AAA titles on sale near release. (You need to go third party for that.)
If you’re familiar with the DRM game, Ubisoft titles of late have required the Uplay client, even if you buy the game on Steam. So this latest development shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

PC AC Unity Deal Detail:
The PC Uplay key deal is part of GMG’s “VIP” sale. The sale only displays the discount prices on this page, and you’ll have be logged in or create an account to see the price. The sale is valid in North America and Europe, but some regions like Australia are out of luck.
If you were hoping to find the Gold Edition ofAssassin’s Creed Unityon sale, we wouldn’t bother. The Gold Edition is simply the game + Season Pass and nothing more. Technically, there IS a deal out there, asGameStop has a 15% coupondropping Gold to $76.49. That said, there’s actually a better discount on the Season Pass at GMG, so you’re better off buying separately.
The 20% coupon deal for the Season Pass will run through Friday, November 14 at 8:00am Pacific. Buying the game for $47.99 and the Season Pass for $24 from GMG will run you a grand total of $71.99. That’s actually $4.50 cheaper than buying the Gold Edition from GameStop for $76.49. Or you may skip Season Pass altogether and wait for a better deal in the future.
Console AC Unity Deal Details:
Console gamers in the US aren’t going to find an outright discount onAssassin’s Creed Unityat this point, but there are a few bonus offers that might be worth looking into. For the Xbox One only, the Microsoft Store is tossing in a bonus of $10 Xbox gift card redeemable on Xbox Live OR if you’re an Xbox Live Rewards member (), you can earn up to $15 worth of Xbox points. We’ll go with the latter as the Xbox gift card is essentially the same thing as Xbox points. Alternatively, if you’re a “My Best Buy” Rewards member, Best Buy is offering a bonus $10 in “My Best Buy” Rewards.

Pre-Order Bonuses for AC Unity:
There was that wacky “Spin to Win Game”ordeal, plus your usual in-game content digital bonuses.Assassin’s Creed Unityis unfortunately a title with retailer pre-order exclusives, but as far as we can tell they are just various different skins of the same weapons.
All pre-orders will also includes the “Chemical Revolution Mission” which involves helping this French chemist escape from his kidnappers and the usual stabby stab stab of AC titles. The PC version from GMG linked above gets the “Royal Arsenal Pack” as an additional pre-order bonus:
