Although Electronic Arts has not officially confirmed much about this year’sBattlefield, reportedly titledBattlefield V, plenty of information has made its way online thanks to leaks. Thus far we know thatBattlefield Vwill apparently beset in World War IIand this week some more details about the game have come out.

Players will be excited to know that this latest leak reveals thatBattlefield Vwill feature a co-op mode. The leak suggests that this is a special mode that will feature squads of players running through “randomly generated Conquest missions.” While this sounds like a co-op offshoot, there is the possibility that DICE will expand the scope of co-op mode beyond simply running through missions.

EA Play E3 2018 new Battlefield gameplay

Obviously, gamers will have to wait and see whether this offering will be similar to that ofBattlefield 3, where co-op involved two players fighting against AI controlled bots. It has also not been confirmed whether there will be anonline leaderboardfor players to compare their co-op efforts against others inBattlefield V. Electronic Arts is also yet to announce details about out how many playersBattlefield V’s co-op mode will support.

It has also not been confirmed whetherBattlefield V’s co-op mode will support split-screen or whether it will be fully online co-op. Thephasing out of split-screen co-ophas caused some controversies in games in the past, like whenHalo 5removed its campaign support for the feature. If nothing else, Electronic Arts should be fully aware of the arguments in favor of split-screen support before making a decision regardingBattlefield V.

Depending on how the developers execute the co-op mode inBattlefield V, it could make the game even more appealing to existing, as well as newBattlefieldplayers. Look for more details about the mode, as well as the other features in the game, during Electronic Arts' EA Play event at E3 2018.

There is no official release date forBattlefield Vyet, but we can expect the game to roll out late in 2018.
