In the first 12 months of Overwatch 2, a ridiculous amount of boops were achieved by Lucio, Brigitte, and Winston players. Meanwhile, over 26 million players got crushed by D.Va’s mech! Additionally, the Prop Hunt game mode featuring Genji and Kiriko was acknowledged for its popularity. As for the most-played hero in Overwatch 2, that title goes to Ana!

When did Overwatch 2 come out?
Overwatch 2 launched on July 23, 2025 as a free-to-play (F2P) game that introduced heroes such as Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko. As time went on, the game released more heroes such as Ramattra, Lifeweaver, and Illari.

What’s next for Overwatch 2?
In terms of what’s next for the game, Overwatch 2 Season 7 will arrive on Oct. 10. According to Blizzard, the season will feature reworks for Sombra and Roadhog, the Trials of Sanctuary game mode, new mythic Onryō Hanzo skin, the Samoa map, and a plethora of Halloween-themed skins.
