DC is expanding the populace of Gotham City , but this time it wo n’t be with more chiropteran - themed superheroes stalking the dark . Two new monthly series , Gotham Academy and Arkham Manor , bring high schooling play to Gotham while also turn baronial Wayne Manor into an Arkham Asylum Annex .
Entertainment Weeklyhas the soap :
In Arkham Manor , stately Wayne Manor gets made over into the local psycho donjon , and , perhaps predictably , some inmates hoist up dead . Things are a bit less bleak in Gotham Academy , a new monthly teen drama set at Gotham City ’s most prestigious prep school . ( Bruce Wayne is a benefactor ; other familiar characters may bulge up in Academy ’s twisted , teenybopping universe . )

I have zero job with either of these . I may not personally be clamoring for Gotham Academy , but I ’m totally down with DC trying to exposit the Bat - poesy into Modern and unlike areas and genres . I also am weirdly looking forth to figuring out what sort of nonsense has to materialise to make Bruce Wayne think letting his entire rogue ’s picture gallery survive in his dwelling house is somehow a full idea .
Both due this October , Arkham Manor will be compose and drawn by Gerry Duggan and Shawn Crystal , severally , while Becky Cloonan and Brendan Fletcher will drop a line Gotham Academy , with artistic production by Karl Kerschl . Here are the two first covers ( I ’m calculate you could opine which is which ):
