As we near year ’s last , I ’m re - posting a few heavy - annotate - upon office from before in the yr . Here ’s one of my favorites !

One such even last week led to an incident in which I , being good uninhibited and deeply joyful , decide to share my unedited joy with others … let ’s say coworkers … via email at 2 am .
Although I did n’t manage to embarrass myself out of a line , it led me to wonder why I do n’t hear more about intoxicated emailing . It must happen all the time . It ’s cognate to drunk dialing ( feature in the movieSideways ) , but even easier to do ( and easier to cut across down the next twenty-four hours in your Sent Mail folder ) . Imagine the informality of intoxicated emailing if you have a BlackBerry ( or are just really good at texting ) . Modern engineering gives us new , quicker , and more traceable ways to connect with the world at sentence when we really should n’t .
Some ( sober ) Googling revealed thatthis does happen all the time , of line , and there ’s even a term for it : d - railing(apparently a slightly drunken conflation of " inebriated emailing " ) . There ’s alsodrunk bloggingand even ( shudder)drunk eBaying .
I asked some ally what they do online when they ’re drunk , and by far the succeeder was : intoxicated iTunes Store purchase . That " bribe now " button is just too easy . And then I remembered something from my evening of drunken calculation … match my Amazon wishlist , I discovered that I ’d make up one’s mind to do by myself to a few paper-back book that had been languishing on my lean for a year . I even got the two - twenty-four hour period merchant vessels .
