Thursday’s Hearthstone patch will bring nerfs to Standard and Wild, plus some balance changes to Battlegrounds. Let’s go over what we know.

Today on social media, Hearthstone gave us some clues about what nerfs the next balance patch will bring this Thursday. With Aggro Frost Death Knight being the meta tyrant, players expected Blizzard to tune down its powerlevel.

On top of that, there will be some tweaks for Battlegrounds and, what’s more, a pleasant surprise for the Wild community too. Let’s check out which cards Hearthstone will soon nerf.

Standard Hearthstone nerfs

Aggro Frost Death Knight has been the most predominant archetypeever since the Return to Naxxramas miniset launched. This is mainly due to Construct Quarter, the new DK Location. We’ve all seen the movie with Wildpaw Gnoll before it nerfs, 4/5s with Rush are pretty good and can push almost any deck off the board if they come in line early enough.

That is why Hearthstone already announced that the card will be nerfed in the upcoming patch. We don’t know the full details yet, but you’re able to expect a downgrade in stats, most likely.

Evolve Shaman was another deck that spiked in popularity with the miniset. While Blazing Transmutation was the card that gave the deck more consistency, the Hearthstone balance team decided to nerf Goldshire Gnoll in the next patch. Probably delaying the deck’s power spike turn.

Wild nerfs

The state of Wild Hearthstone has been a trending topic lately, with the community begging for a balance update or at least some nerfs to make the format playable and may be enjoyable. Wild is Wild, and Hearthstone doesn’t design cards thinking about Wild interactions. However, Matt London confirmed that they would try to tackle the issue.

Surprisingly for many, Hearthstone will deliver a batch of Wild nerfs with the 25.4.3 patch, shortly after the promise. The three cards that will see nerfs will be Grey Sage Parrot, Spectral Pillager and Cataclysm. These were key pieces of the most uninteractive decks, and the Hearthstonecommunity hopes these are only the first of a seriesof nerfs.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds nerfs and buffs in patch 25.4.3

On top of the mentioned constructed balance changes, Hearthstone Battlegrounds will also see some tweaking in the next patch. Hearthstone will nerf the two major outliers in Battlegrounds this Thursday: Magmaloc and Chronrmu.

Hearthstone will also nerf three other Battlegrounds minions in the next patch. We yet don’t know the magnitude of the changes, but we know which cards will be downgraded. On the other hand, three Battlegrounds minions will see buffs in the next Hearthstone patch. With so many levers in the mode, it’s hard to estimate how this patch will land. But one thing it’s certain, it will shake the metagame a bit.

Nerfs

Buffs

One extra change that falls in between nerfs and buffs is Greasebot. It seems that Hearthstone devs want to bring Divine Shields back to the game with the next balance patch. That’s why Greasebot will see yet another change to energize Mech comps.

That’s all for now, but stay tuned to see what the actual nerfs and buffs will be and for more Hearthstonenews and updates. Be sure to visit Esports.gg for all the latestesports news. See you next time in Bob’s Tavern.
