Here is a pre-farming guide for Cipher’s Ascension and Trace materials as she becomes playable in honkai Star Rail version 3.3!
Cipher is coming to Honkai Star Rail version 3.3 as a playable character! She certainly has the potential to be a strong Nihility character, but only if a sizable investment is made in making her strong. Check out the full list of all Cipher Ascension and Trace materials you need to farm. Luckily, you can pre-farm most of them now!

Cipher Ascension Materials
Black Tide creatures drop the Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail, and Eternal Lament. you may find these mobs across Amphoreus areas and farming nodes. Don’t forget to check your inventory because you may already have a surplus of these sitting around.
Darkveil Moonlight is the Quantum Ascension material that can be farmed from a Stagnant Shadow node in Amphoreus. This is the same material thatCastoriceandTribbieused, so there’s also a chance that you have these already.

Where to farm Darkveil Moonlight
you’re able to farm Darkveil Moonlight in the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Gelidmoon node in the “Murmuring Woods” Grove of Epiphany area in Amphoreus.
If you do not have the area unlocked yet, the Temporary Early Access feature allows you to access it from the Adventurer’s Handbook. This feature will be active once Version 3.3 goes live.
You can also get Darkveil Moonlight from the Omni-Synthesizer. Exchange two of a different Ascension material to get one Darkveil Moonlight. Note that this exchange can only be done 20 times per week.
Cipher Trace Materials
Fiery Spirit, Starfire Essence, and Heaven Incinerator are the Nihility Trace materials that Cipher needs and all drop from the Crimson Calyx: Bud of Nihility in the Alchemy Commission in Xianzhou.
Cipher requires the drop from the new Echo of War: “Fortress of Dome” Eye of Twilight that was added in Version 3.3. While you work on unlocking that challenge, you can check out Hyacine’s materials and pre-farm those instead.
