Riot Games has revealed more details about Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 15! TFT K.O. Coliseum features anime-themed champions and traits, the Power Ups set mechanic, 120 augments, role revamps, cosmetics galore, and more. In an interview with esports.gg, the Riot Games also talked about an updated competitive TFT circuit.
Anime champions enter TFT Set 15 for K.O. Coliseum shenanigans
TFT Set 15 arrives in public beta environment (PBE) servers on July 15 before its official release date of July 30. When players enter the K.O. Coliseum, they can expect champions like Seraphine and Kobuko. Seraphine embraces the magical girl trope as the 5-cost leader of the Star Guardians and has the Ultimate Friendship Bomb spell to attack her foes. Meanwhile, Kobuko enters the Convergence as a 2-cost Mentor. Other 5-cost units to expect include Yone, Twisted Fate, Braum, Zyra, Varus, and Gwen.
TFT Set 15 interview: K.O. Coliseum traits get anime twists
As for the traits, they include Battle Academia, Crystal Gambit, Luchador, Mentor, Mighty Mech, Monster Trainer, Soul Fighter, the aforementioned Star Guardian one, Stance Master, Supreme Cells, The Crew, Wraith, and more. These pay tribute to beloved anime tropes. For example, Star Guardians become more powerful while among other Star Guardians. If you love Voltron, then be prepared to summon TFT’s version of it by obtaining more units with the Mighty Mech trait.
“I hope the answer here is that someone on the team finds anime resonance in all of them. That was an intentional goal of ours, that whatever type of anime you like, you’re able to find something in this set that reminds you of a favorite show or a favorite moment or a favorite trope,” TFT Set 15 lead Michael Sloan told esports.gg.
Sloan continued, “For me personally, I’m a big fan of The Crew. I love that space western cowboy future-esque thing. Those are some of my favorite shows. As someone who plays re-roll a lot, The Crew is also just a very novel re-roll experience with a cool payout. So that’s probably my personal favorite just because of the shows I like.”
Meanwhile, Alex Kougasian loves the Soul Fighter trait. “My personal favorite is Soul Fighter. The VFX are so gorgeous and they really sell this idea that you break your limit,” Kougasian said. “You’re getting stronger and stronger. And then you reach a level of power you thought you couldn’t.”
Tech set designer Milo added to this by talking about Monster Trainer. “I also spend a lot of time playing around with the actual polish of it, making Lulu do a flip off the board. You have a cool reveal moment when you show all the monsters. I think it works pretty well.”

The K.O. Coliseum mechanic involves Power Ups. To get boosts from these Power Ups, players must use Power Snax to open an armory for a selected champion. Power Ups can be removed and used on another champion as well.
Meanwhile, TFT Set 15 brings with it 120 augments. One example of one is Tournament Favorites, which rewards players for duking it out well using Soul Fighter units. Another example pertains to Diamond Hands, which lets players go wild with the Crystal Gambit cash-out trait.
TFT role revamps in K.O. Coliseum
Next, K.O. Coliseum has role revamps to create more melee carries and fun specialists with varying types of attacks and ultimates. Mana generation changes by role as well in Set 15. For example, tanks gain mana from attacks and damage taken.
“The most important change coming with roles is how champions generate mana,” game designer Tim Jiang said. “With roles revamped, only tanks will generate mana by taking damage. Every other role generates mana in different ways.” He added that there are five major roles coming to all TFT champions.
TFT Set 15 cosmetics
In terms of new cosmetics, players can look forward to collecting Chibi Spirit Blossom Lillia, Prestige Chibi Spirit Blossom Ahri, High Noon Thresh Unbound, and The Veiled Village arena. There are also anime-inspired portal skins such as Spirit Springs, Portal of the First Star, The Way of the K.O., God Weapon, Crystal Caress, and Into The Lands Beyond.
TFT Set 15 esports update
As for the TFT Pro Circuit (TPC), it’s a new Tier 1 tournament series across four regions starting August 2025. It has three events and 32 top players qualifying via Cyber City. The expanded TFT Open also returns to Paris with 768 player slots, more developer panels, artist alley, co-streamer meet-and-greets, plus a four-versus-four (4v4) side event. The pre-sale details for competitor passes arrive on Sept. 8.
