That season, Farrell earned multiple accolades for his work in 2022’sThe Banshees of Inisherin, including an Oscar nomination and two SAG nods. He and Curtis discussed their buzzy performances and careers inVariety’s Actors on Actorsseries — filmed and published prior to the alleged COVID sharing at the 2023 Golden Globes.
During their interview, the pair of longtime actorsbonded over their sobriety journeys. “I had suspicions, before I got sober, of how painful life could be,” said Farrell at the time. “But I had no ability to hold that without being self-destructive and without living in it… I don’t live in that now.”
When Farrell asked Curtis about what legacy means to her, which she admitted she thinks about “a lot,” she responded: “Being sober is going to be a legacy, for sure.”
