From exciting video game trailers to major game updates to exciting esports news, there’s definitely no shortage of exciting content. The lore behind Legend of Zelda can be a bit confusing but the gameplay was straight up hype. At the Nintendo Direct on Aug 23, 2025, Nintendo fans were finally given their first look at the new mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom. First, you’re able to shoot arrows while flying. Secondly, Link can control ancient devices. There’s also giant monsters and Ganon rising up from the dead! Things are going to get crazy, that’s for sure.
Overwatch League 2023 to see major changes, Pro-Am tournament
Overwatch League 2023 has major changes in store for the Blizzard esports, including the addition of Contenders teams to the mix.

It’s no surprise that the Overwatch League has been a bit of a mess. Okay,verymessy. But it’s looking like 2023 is bringing some interesting changes for whoever plans to stick around. Following in the footsteps of League of Legends, the season will now be split into Spring and Summer. East and West will also be competing separately until they go head-to-head at Midseason Madness Global Tournament and Grand Finals.
The other big change is the introduction of the Pro-Am Tournament. This will allow for Contenders-level teams to earn a spot in the Overwatch League. It’s going to be a very interesting 2023 for loyal Overwatch fans.

Apex Legends Season 16 unveils new classes rework and perks
Respawn will be entirely reworking the Legend class system in Season 16 instead of adding a new Legend. Read about all the changes below!

Season 16 is going to be huge for Apex Legends. Instead of introducing a new legend, developers have announced a huge overhaul of legend classes. There are now five classes, each with assigned legends and new game-changing perks. For example, Assault legends will be able to carry more ammo and Recon legends will be given access to Modified Survey Beacons that can reveal enemy positions.
The Battle Royale title, which just passed its four year anniversary, is also about to drop a massive patch that could either sink or float. Check out theApex Legends Season 16 patch notesto make your own mind up.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 is almost here, and with it a…Overwatch dating sim?
A dating sim, an anime crossover, and more: Overwatch 2 Season 3 is jam-packed with new content. Let’s take a look.
Overwatch 2 is going all out for Season 3. There will be an anime crossover skin for Doomfist, a map full of penguins, and yes, a dating sim. Romantic hopefuls will be able to woo either Genji or Mercy in a dating sim called Loverwatch. The 30-minute experience will give you butterflies and a Play of the Game intro. And endless amounts of shame.

Nintendo Direct breaks the internet? Twitter and YouTube go down in wake of Nintendo reveals
Twitter and YouTube both went down on Feb. 8, suspiciously close to the Nintendo Direct livestream.

The Nintendo Direct on February 8 was one of the most exciting as of late, according to many Nintendo fans. Why? Well, Legend of Zelda, Pikman, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Splatoon… There was something for everybody. Hence the crash!
Dome has returned to Call of Duty in the Season 2 update. This map hasn’t been seen since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 back in 2011! The iconic map has sparked excitement for Modern Warfare 2 (for now).

Apex Legends is getting a complete rework in Season 16. In addition to the legend class changes, players will also be saying goodbye to Arenas. This game mode will be replaced with Team Deathmatch, a popular FPS game mode that fans have been asking for.

Streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney held the first-ever Tfue Tuesday Fortnite tournament with $100K on the line. The star-studded Team Clix team (Clix, Kwanti, Rise, and Eomzo) won two Victory Royales out of 10 matches, finishing with 446 points.
Hasanabi raises over $500,000 for Turkey and Syria earthquake relief efforts amidst tragedy
Hasanabi and more help raise money for those affected by the natural disaster that hit Turkey and Syria on June 25, 2025.
Political streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker raised over $500K towards earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. The two countries were devastated by a giant earthquake that left destroyed towns and casualties in its wake.

Atlanta FaZe celebrate their Call of Duty League Major 2 win

Atlanta FaZe have started this season of the Call of Duty League in incredible fashion. The squad won the Call of Duty Major 2 after struggling during the Vanguard days of the esport. The win felt “special,” Chris “Simp” Lehr told us post-win.
Activision Blizzard to pay $35 million; settling multiple charges against the company
Activision Blizzard has officially agreed to pay $35 million in settlement charges. Read below for more information.
Activision Blizzard has been accused of sexism, gender discrimination, harassment, and having a toxic work environment. It was announced on July 16, 2025 that Blizzard had to pay $35 million in settlements for not being open about their plans for creating and upholding a safer work environment.

G2 sweep FaZe to secure IEM Katowice Playoffs
FaZe Clan will now face off against the mongolian stars IHC in the lower bracket. Meanwhile G2 continue their 15 map win streak and lock in a Spodek appearance.

G2 and FaZe were both undefeated going into IEM Katowice. The two ended up facing off at the finals but G2 came out on top with a 2-0 victory. The squad has now secured a spot at the playoffs of IEM Katowice.
