Here’s what to expect with Mortal Kombat 1 at gamescom 2023

After the Opening Night Live on Aug. 22, gamescom 2023 will officially kick off on Aug. 23 and run through Aug. 27. Over on Twitter, the official Mortal Kombat 1 account confirmed the game’s presence at the event.

“Experience the New Era first-hand at gamescom. 23-27 August,“the post stated, implying that attendees will get to play the game themselves.

According toan announcement, gamescom 2023 will take place in the city of Cologne, Germany. A bunch of companies will be at the event as well. Some of them include Bandai Namco Entertainment, Hoyoverse, Nintendo, Ubisoft, and Xbox.

Meanwhile, the Opening Night Live will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. He recently hosted Summer Game Fest 2023, which also revealed some Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay.

Before the Mortal Kombat 1 launches on Sept. 14, fans can purchase the game ahead of time for some bonuses. The premium edition, for example, includes Shang Tsung as a playable character plus access to the pre-order beta on Xbox and PlayStation 5.
