Longtime members Chet and Victor are officially no longer a part of NRG and its VALORANT roster representing VCT Americas.

Champions is on the horizon and VCT Americas has entered its Stage 2 playoffs for the 2024 season. Some teams that didn’t qualify are looking to the future already. In a somewhat shocking, yet also expected move, NRG has parted ways with coach Chet “Chet” Singh and longtime member Victor “Victor” Wong.

NRG continues its VALORANT roster shuffle by letting go of Chet and Victor

Both Chet and Victor are original members of NRG in VALORANT. They were together on the dominant OpTic Gaming squad and stayed together as OpTic exited the esport, making way for their arrival on NRG.

Now, they’re removed from their longstanding team, with no signs of who may replace them. This comes after some otherroster moves throughout the season. The team started the season looking as dangerous as ever, bringing on Max “Demon1” Mazanov, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold.

Before Stage 2, former IGL Pujan “FNS” Mehta and controller player Sam “s0m” Oh returned as Demon1 was benched and Marved was released. The hope was that the familiarity would be what brought NRG back to the top.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. NRG had a solid start to Stage 1, but missed the playoffs. That prompted the roster moves.Stage 2 saw them only gain one victory. That means zero playoff appearances or international events for NRG in 2024.

The removal of Chet and Victor from NRG starts the so-called rostermania of the VALORANT Champions Tour. With rumors of Chet heading back to Counter-Strike, we’ll have to wait and see if that pans out. As well as where Victor may end come 2025.

Interestingly enough, the VCT contract database X account that shares all updates from the global database has Demon1 as being set to Active once again. Like with Chet and Victor, we’ll have to sit tight to see what happens with NRG in VALORANT.
