According to Overwatch 2 lead hero designer Alec Dawson, players can expect some fine tuning in terms of projective sizes. A subset of heroes will be affected by this. Some heroes will also get health adjustments.

“Expect finer tuning of the projectile size changes for a subset of heroes and some health adjustments,” Dawson wrote. “Accuracy numbers are meeting intentions but some are pushed a bit too far.”

The screenshot above shows Mercy getting headshots on Soldier: 76 despite not aiming directly at her target’s head. This screenshot is froma video posted by GetQuakedOn, who highlighted the effect of Mercy’s current projectile size.

GetQuakedOn also madea postabout Doomfist’s punching bugs. Dawson noted that a recent hotfix pertaining to these Doomfist bugs and Junkerqueen’s melee damage went out. Dawson added that the Overwatch 2 team will keep track of the developing meta — especially the effects of the Season 9 updates.

Overwatch 2 Season 9 hero health explained

On Feb. 12, Blizzard outlined the slew of Overwatch 2 Season 9 changes, with balance and gameplay being key points. Projectile sizes were increased alongside the health pool of heroes. These updates aimed to make the damage dealt by heroes more consistent while keeping the time it took to eliminate targets almost the same.

“We also added a new passive for all heroes to regenerate their health when they step out of combat,” Blizzard added inthe announcement. TheOverwatch 2 Season 9 patch notesalso detailed these changes.
