Coinciding with her portrayal of Daphne inBridgerton, Phoebe Dynevor made her feature film debut in a period piece that’s wildly different from the Netflix series. Dynevor is best known for the role ofDaphne inBridgerton, though she’s been acting since the early 2010s. Throughout the years,Dynevor has shown her impressive range as an actor.
Dynevor had a recurring role on the comedy seriesYounger, and in recent years, has led the thrillersFair PlayandInheritance. Phoebe Dynevor’s The Colour Room Couldn’t Be Less Like Bridgerton, Despite Being A Period Piece
The Colour Roomwas released betweenBridgertonseasons 1 and 2, and saw Dynevor in a completely different setting. Based on the life of ceramic artist Clarice Cliff,The Colour Roomfollows Clarice’s life throughout the 1920s and 1930s, a time in which she worked in different factories and made a name for herself as an artist.
Dynevor effortlessly embodies Clarice’s persona and drive, making for an equally informative and inspiring biopic. ThoughThe Colour RoomandBridgertonare considerably different, they do have a few similarities.BothThe Colour RoomandBridgertonexplore women’s roles in society during their respective periods, and feature striking costumes and sets that transport audiences back in time.

However, the sensational romance and drama that madeBridgertonsuch a hit upon its initial release are missing fromThe Colour Room. Centered mostly on Dynevor’s performance,The Colour Roomis much more concerned with chronicling Clarice’s rise to prominence, and therefore doesn’t emphasize much of the artist’s romantic endeavors or life outside of her craft.
Will Phoebe Dynevor Ever Return To Bridgerton?
WhileBridgertonremains Dynevor’s best-known work, she has not appeared in the series since season 2. Dynevor’s absence inBridgertonseason 3 hasn’t drastically affected the flow of the series' overarching narrative nor the fanfare surrounding the Netflix hit.Daphne’s absence will continue into season 4and, consequently, interest in Dynevor’s possible return grows.
In various interviews since her departure,Dynevor has expressed an interest in returning toBridgertonshould she be asked back. After moving to a supporting role in season 2,Dynevor explained her initial departure fromBridgertonwas because her character’s arc had been completed.

Still, there are yet to be any confirmed plans to rewrite Daphne back into future seasonsofBridgerton. Dynevor’s performance in season 1 was part ofBridgerton’s initial success, and there’s no doubt she would receive a warm welcome from audiences if she were to return.
The Daphne-shaped hole inBridgertonis difficult to ignore at times, butthe large eponymous family inBridgertonallows the series to zero in on one romance at a time. This gives room for characters like Daphne to take a backseat in seasons that are not centered on them, and allows for her extended absence fromBridgertonto be more reasonable.
