Retro Studios has developed some of the greatest games of the past few generations. BothMetroid PrimeandDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freezeare some of the best examples of their respective series and fans have been eager to figure out what Nintendo has the Texas-based company working on next. This isn’t really a definitive answer, but it is good for a laugh or two.

When asked what game they were making on Twitter, Retro responded with a gif of food and the words, “Something Delicious.”

A battle scene in Battlefield 6 Open Beta

That could mean a multitude of things, but I’m sure we’ll all be pleasantly surprised with whatever title comes out from the studio. Seeing as how they are basically finished withMetroidand a thirdDonkey Kong Countrygame doesn’t seem likely, I’m wondering if Nintendo has put the company to work on aCooking Mamagame. I don’t think many gamers would like that, but it is a distinct possibility.

I’d like to see Retro tackle a totally different genre and possibly reviveF-Zero, but I’m not sure Nintendo has much interest in continuing the tale of Captain Falcon. It would be absolutely perfect for the Switch, what with the multiplayer capabilities not limited to couch (due to a poor network) or online play (because of poor hardware).
