Six teams, a different format but the same level of excitement and competition. The winner of the MSS goes to Iceland!
Riot Games has announced that the League of Legends inaugural mid-season showdown will begin this Saturday. The showdown will continue through the finals weekend at the Los Angeles Greek Theater on April 10-11.

The event will not have a live audience and Riot Games says it will have a strict adherence to COVID protocols. This includes testing of players before arrival and separation on-site for finalist teams.

What is the format of the Mid-Season showdown?
The mid-season playoff counts as its own LCS title. The top six teams with the best regular-season records qualify for the mid-season showdown.
The first four seeds make up the upper bracket. The fifth and sixth seed teams will start in the lower bracket. The showdown uses a double-elimination format.

The LCS champion will receive an award in an on-stage ceremony. The winner also proceeds to qualify for the global Mid-Season Invitational in May in Reykjavik, Iceland. The mid-seasonal invitational takes place from May 6-23, 2021.
