Skate is releasing an early access version,
EA’s Skate is finally making its long-awaited debut in the form of an early access playtest in the middle of summer in 2025. Up until this point, the revival of the beloved Skate franchise has been kept behind closed doors for the most part, with only a select few playtesters getting the chance to see what EA has been cooking for the past couple of years.
Now, it appears that the newest Skate title is ready to be unleashed to the public, and an early access playtest is arriving for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile. Below, you can find out exactly how to play the early access version and when it’s set to be released.

How to play the Skate early access test
The early access version of Skate is being added with the Playtest Update 0.27, which is set to arrive onJuly 2. This is when players who are granted access to the test will be able to start playing the newest version of Skate.
If you want to be one of those lucky early access players, you have to go to. This just requires inputting an email address and letting EA send you some emails about Skate. After you have registered to be a Skate Insider, you’ll have the best chance at participating in the early access test. However, registering as a Skate Insider doesn’t guarantee you’ll be granted access.
EA will likely roll out invites to the early access test as it goes on in July. So, if you don’t get access right away, there’s still a good chance you’ll eventually be able to play.
As a Skate Insider, you’ll be granted some exclusive rewards in Skate, such as custom boards, stickers, and more. you’re able to use all of this content in the early access test, along with all of the other additions EA has added in Skate since we last publicly saw it. This includes a new look at the San Vansterdam map, updated AI, better sounds and animations, and a new and improved UI.
We’ll see exactly what EA has been cooking up when the Skate early access test arrives on July 2.
