Also like Play-Doh.

Lucky for you,Esports.gg is here with yet another Season 4 ranking of Heroes. Take a look below for the shorthand on who to pick when it comes to DPS.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 DPS tier-list

This break down of the best Overwatch Season 4 DPS is based on a few metrics. This includes an overall decision on what Hero is the best in any overall situation, as well as what best fits in the meta as of May 2023. While everyone may not agree on these choices, it should at least help players make their own decisions on what works best in the current metagame.

Overwatch Season 4 is here and with it comes a new Support Hero in the mix. Where does Lifeweaver land? Let’s take a look.

The best Overwatch Season 4 tanks, ranked – midseason update

It’s the midseason of Overwatch Season 4 and with it comes a new ranking of tanking!

This list will be updated upon the midseason patch release.

S-tier DPS Heroes

A shake up at the top! The Overwatch 2 Season 4 DPS list sees some new entries in the S-tier, Mei and Symmetra. Both reach the list’s apex thanks in-part to their utility while still pumping out big damage. Even with a direct Sombra counter, Blizzard is still one of the best set-up duo Ultimates in the game. Meanwhile, Symmetra gains even more value in a meta where dive and death ball both tend to reign.

The two best hitscan Heroes are Cassidy and Soldier, with Ashe losing some power thanks to the “bug” fix on her Ult charge off BOB. However, Cowboy and Boomer still remain the most consistent, dangerous Hitscan damage–especially against the likes of Tracer, Genji, and Sombra.

Overwatch 2

SOJOURN

Best situations:Pressure and aggression, countering snipersCountered by:Another Sojourn; D.VAPairs well with:Murphy, down.

CASSIDY

Best situations:Dive counter, shield break, Pharah counterCountered by:Being an idiot who tries to flankPairs well with:Kiriko

SYMMETRA

Best situations:Shield break, dive counterCountered by:Burst damage, her toys being destroyedPairs well with:Sigma, so you can teleport him up to the statue on King’s Row

A-tier DPS Heroes

The A-tier is getting crowded! I consider that a good thing, as there’s never been a time in Overwatch when so many heroes are strong choices. Each Hero in this category brings something to the table in regards to playmaking–From Bastion’s sheer damage output to Tracer’s ability to harass the backline.

The biggest move is the addition of Sombra to the A-tier. She continues to receive buffs with every patch, now able to counter Mei’s Blizzard with EMP. However, she is also a definitive counter to Lifeweaver; able to turn off his Platform and remove his Tree of Life with ease.

HANZO

Best situations:Shield break, sniper fightsCountered by:Being reported for cheatingPairs well with:Reinhardt, Mercy

B-tier DPS Heroes

The B-tier of Overwatch 2 Season 4 DPS Heroes is far less crowded than the previous one. Reaper drops from that slot due to Lifeweaver and his ability to yank low-health targets out of the shotgunner’s radius. Likewise, Pharah continues to be a strong but ever-niche pick thanks to hitscan being so strong in the current meta. However, both prove to be strong counterpicks in a lot of situations.

PHARAH

Best situations:A lack of hitscan; open maps such as IlliosCountered by:Hitscan, a good Ana, RamattraPairs well with:Mercy, Ana, Zenyatta

REAPER

Best situations:Isolated targets, Winston, Junker QueenCountered by:Ana, BaptistePairs well with:Ana, Zenyatta Orbs, more than one player turning around

Situational DPS Heroes

Some may be surprised at Genji being down this low. The resident ninja of Overwatch has far too many direct-counters at this point, including a rising Symmetra and Sombra. While Dragon Blade will always stand out as a “Oh crap, we have to be ready for that” Ultimate, it also requires too much additional help.

Likewise, Junkrat and Torb both represent a time and place when it comes to their selection. Each Hero has a defensive strength that, when given proper set-up time, can be tough to overcome. However, both also possess too many weaknesses for general play outside of the hands of specialists.
