Super Crate Box Arrange Album AnnouncementfromVlambeeronVimeo.
Two years ago in October,Super Crate Boxreleased for PC and effectively destroyed my life for that month. Those dutch bastards at Vlambeer aren’t done with crates by a long shot and have nowlaid claim to the entire monthby declaring that they own October, which is now Super Crate Box month. Please make the necessary adjustments to your calendars.
What possessed them? They have a whole lot ofSuper Crate Boxgoodness happening, is what. First off, the PS Vita version of the game released today over PlayStation Mobile, where it sells for $3.49. It’s probably the best version ofSuper Crate Boxto date, as it looks pretty awesome on the bright Vita screen and I know I appreciate score-driven games where everyone is on the same playing field, controller-wise.

Also now available is a newly arranged version of theSuper Crate Boxsoundtrack (seen in the video above) by Erik “Phlogiston” Surhke, which includes a special copy of the game which replaces the original music with the re-arrangement. I’m listening to the tracks as I write this, cursing myself and the way my hand, even now, aches to move the mouse over the purchase button. It’s pretty fun, runs about fifteen minutes, and I’d encourage yougive it a listen.
The iOS release is also receiving an patch, which resolves a few issues and paves the way for a larger update expected in the future. And the team expects that the Mac version ofSuper Crate Boxon Steam will be ready to go live sometime next week.

If that were not enough (and, if you’re going to claim an entire month for yourself, it probably isn’t) those maniacs have announced they are working on yet another version ofSuper Crate Box. Tentatively titled “Super Bread Box,” little more than a few screenshots were delivered and a cryptic suggestion that not many people will even be able to play it.
Bread Box, eh? I won’t spoil what I think the answer to the mystery is for you, but it looks like I’m going to have to drag a cold, beige brick out of my closet. I don’t know whether to be angry or amused.
